I ended my Saturday DM on “Easter 2026” with the phrase, “We turn into an Easter.” I need to give credit score the place credit score is due. I’m borrowing from Mechtild of Magdeburg who wrote:
God speaks:
When your Easter comes
I shall be throughout you,
I shall be by means of and thru you
And I shall steal your physique
And provide you with to your Love.*
All of us endure Easter and Easters simply as all of us endure deaths and resurrections. Francis of Assisi talks about our “first” and “second” demise, and Thomas Aquinas talks a couple of “first” and “second resurrection,” the primary being “waking up on this lifetime.”

Easter or the Resurrection actually pertains to the Through Creativa. Our creativity is an expression of resurrection. There’s a particular relationship between the Through Positiva—awe, marvel, pleasure and delight—and the Through Creativa, as a result of our creativity too is a response to awe and gratitude for existence. Certainly, people by their creativity convey extra marvel and awe into the world. Within the Through Positiva we acknowledge the fantastic thing about the world, and within the Through Creativa we add to the marvel and wonder on this planet.
And simply as Genesis names the Spirit as bringing creation forth, so is the Through Creativa the work of the Holy Spirit with whom we co-create. As Aquinas put it, “the identical Spirit that hovered over creation at first of the world hovers over the thoughts of the artist at work.”
When faith turns into so wrapped up in sin and redemption that it ignores creativity and co-creation, it forgets the Holy Spirit as nicely.
The Through Transformativa places our creativity to the most effective work potential: Birthing therapeutic, celebration, justice-making and compassion into the world. How essential it’s to remind us of this, since humanity is absolutely able to utilizing its god-like artistic powers to convey extra chaos, hatred and destruction into the world if it chooses. Of selecting the demonic over the divine.
The president and his get together have simply demanded $1.5 trillion for the conflict division, and cuts in Social Safety and support for the poor to pay for it. No Through Transformativa there.
We want parameters on our God-given powers of creativity as a way to steer it into the very best path for the way forward for Earth and its creatures, humanity included.
As Mechtild places it:
Don’t shun energy
Nor despise it.
However use it accurately.
When is energy used accurately?
Energy is made for service.
I’m your servant;
I’m not your grasp.
Be a servant.
Not a grasp.*
Once more:
What must you do?
Do good by doing compassion
To everybody wants it.
Anticipate adversity.
Bear adversity with love.*
